Areas of practice

  • “When I have been listened to and when I have been heard, I am able to re-perceive my world in a new way and to go on.” – Carl Rogers

My approach to counselling is non-judgemental and empathetic. I endeavour to consider each person’s situation and work collaboratively with clients to find pathways forward using the method that suits them.

  • “It’s Mum’s first time on earth too you know” – big sister to little sister

Parenting has challenges even in the absence of a mental health diagnosis. Parents navigate the best way they know how with their own upbringing as a blueprint. For the most part, this serves us well. There are times though, caregivers need support too.

  • My worldview shifted when anorexia nervosa entered our home and my daughter acquired a life-threatening disease. I couldn’t help her on my own and I sought help from people who knew the illness and could support us all. I have since built on this lived experience to gain professional qualifications and acquire further knowledge in how to support others.
